Steps to share a printer with others on the network in Windows XP
To share the printer
Open up the Printers and Faxes option. Hit the Start icon, click on the Control Panel, Printers and Other Hardware options and then tap the Printers and Faxes icon. Right-click on the printer which you wish to share and hot the Sharing button. On the Sharing tab, hit the “Share this printer” option and then type a share name for the specific shared printer. Click on the Connect to a printer option which is located on the Internet. Type the URL to the printer by typing http://printserver_name/Printers/share_name/.printer. Next, follow all the instructions on the screen to easily finish connecting to the network printer.
